Tessa Lorant's Collection of Knitted Lace Edgings by Tessa Lorant
Tessa Lorant has taken some treasured patterns from the past and shown us, with flair and ingenuity, how to turn them, easily and at a modern pace, into the dainty and enchanting edgings illustrated within this book. These edgings give an excellent grounding in lace knitting fro the newcomer to the craft and also provide unusual patterns for the advanced knitter. Included are: knitting charts specially designed for modern two needle knitting (but there are written instructions too); instruction on how to prepare the lace simply and quickly (without using pre-drawn outlines, pins or irons); illustrations of the laces in their 'proper' shapes (clearly demonstrating their various uses); and characteristic patterns transposed to the 24-space punchcard (so that machine knitters, too, can make some of these beautiful edgings).
