Introduction to Needlepoint Lace by Nenia Lovesey

The revival of interest in needlepoint lacemaking has led to a rediscovery of the old methods of working and the traditional stitches and patterns. This introduction will take the beginner through the various fillings, grounds and couronnes that made up the old laces, placing each distinctive pattern in its historical background. Once the techniques has been mastered, the beginner can move on to designing her own patterns.
