An A - Z of British 18th & 19th Century Samplers: An Exhibition by Witney Antiques

This exhibition was mounted to help celebrate the 75th anniversary of the British Antique Dealers Association. Although the main focus of the exhibition was British samplers dating from the 18th and 19th century, also included were a few comparative examples from Europe and the British Colonies. Two examples from the 17th century help give an indication of how the form and function of the sampler has changed over time. The conservation and care of samplers id addressed at the back of the catalog.
